Top 10 Best & Success Photo editing Apps For Android 2016

ANDROID

by Shelly Singh

Tablets are awesome photo editing devices. Being larger than a phone gives you extra space to work with, but being smaller than a computer means that they’re easier to carry around. There are a ton of photo editing apps for Android tablets so let’s look at the best ones! You can also find many of these on our list of

Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop Mix

[Price: Free]
First on our list are two heavy hitters from Adobe: Lightroom and Photoshop Mix. Each has their own distinctive set of features with Lightroom focusing more on RAW photography while Photoshop focuses more on photo modification. They’re not quite as powerful as the computer variants but they are free to use and connect to the Adobe Creative Cloud so you can seamlessly transition between your tablet and computer if you use this stuff on your computer as well. They’re powerful and professional and they’re worth a shot.

Adobe Color CC, Brush CC, and Shape CC

[Price: Free]
Adobe has a secondary set of apps for photo editing called Color CC, Brush CC, and Shape CC. Brush CC allows you to create brushes to use in images while Shape CC turns photos of things into vector graphics. Color CC allows users to discern what colors are in images so they can be used again elsewhere. Separate, they aren’t all that much to brag about but when combined with a good primary photo editor, these can be some very useful tools and, you guessed it, they’re also all totally free!

Fotor Photo Editor

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Fotor Photo Editor is not only among the most popular on this list with over five million downloads, but it’s also among the highest rated with a 4.5 rating. The app features well over 100 filters for you to use and you can add multiple effects to each photo. It also features an auto-fix option, 13 different scene options, and a bright, easy user interface. It’s free to use with some stuff requiring an in-app purchase to unlock but it’s a solid, simple editor all around.

Pho.to Lab

[Price: Free / $3.99]
Pho.to Lab is another of the more simple photo editing apps with a lot of options and fun features. It’s also intensely popular (10 million downloads) and highly rated (4.5). This app runs the gambit on things like frames, effects, montages, collages, and more. You can also use multiple effects on each photo and there is a simple set of basic tools to edit each photo. It’s a great place to start and a good, simple editor.

Photo Editor by Aviary

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Photo Editor by Aviary is a highly polished and easy-to-use photo editor with pretty much all of the basic tools you need to make photos look better. Some of the features include one-tap auto-enhance, a plentiful number of effects and frames, and basic tools sharpen/blur, crop, rotate, brightness, contract, color temp, etc. There are even cosmetic tools to do things like make teeth whiter or fix red eye. It’s fairly powerful and it’s easy to use.

Photo Editor Pro

[Price: Free]
Photo Editor Pro is one of the few truly free options on the list and it comes with a moderate amount of features and a decent user interface. Some of the features include photo effects, one-tap auto-enhance, filters, stickers, frames, color balance and temp, and you can even draw and add text. It’s not as feature heavy as some of these others but you can’t argue with that price tag!

Photo Mate R2

[Price: Free]
Photo Mate R2 is newer on the scene compared to some of these others and it’s a bit more expensive. However, this is a very powerful photo editing application. It supports full RAW decoding from a range of cameras including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Samsung, and many others. The features include noise reduction, sharpening, clarity curves, vibrance, lens-correction, and many more. This is a serious piece of software, amateurs need not apply.

Pixlr by Autodesk

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Pixlr by Autodesk is another fairly in-depth photo editor. With this you can apply effects in real-time and you have access to all of the basic tools. Along with that, you can create collages, auto-fix photos, remove red-eye, and use a very unique and powerful collection of tools, effects, and filters. This one is especially good on tablets because there is a lot you can do and some of it gets lost on a phone.

Shift

[Price: Free with in-app purchases]
Shift is a unique photo editing application. Instead of applying pre-made filters, people can use this application to make their own then apply them. Unfortunately, the app is still a bit rough around the edges and updates are a little slow. However, this is the app to try out if you’re interested in creating effects and doing some unusual stuff that you can’t really do very often in the other apps. Just beware of the bugs!

Snapseed

[Price: Free]
Snapseed is such a solid photo editing app thatsome of its features were even ported to Google+. With this you can get all the basic editing tools like rotate, contrast, and crop along with stuff like spot repair (removes dust from photos), filters, filter editing, lens blur, and more. It’s not super powerful like some others but if you just need something basic and totally free, this is about as good as it gets.
