Freedom 251 website crashes, company says will be back in 24 hours

NEW DELHI: The website of Freedom 251 smartphone(www.freedom251.com) is officially down. Thanking the users for the enormous response, the Noida-based company Ringing Bells said in a message on its website:

"Dear friends, we are very grateful for your enormous response and your kind patronage and would submit that as of now we receive approx 6 Lacs hits per second as a result of which due to your kind overwhelming response servers are over loaded. We humbly submit that we are therefore taking a pause and upgrading the service and will revert within or before 24 hours. Once again our respectful thanks and gratitude for your support and patience. We look forward your return as soon as we are back online well within 24 hours."
The company had announced that customers can purchase the smartphone from its website starting 6am on February 18 till 8pm on Sunday February 21, 2017.

And in case you were not able to place an order for the world's cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 despite trying numerous times since morning, take heart. For the website has been facing glitches since morning.

TOI tech team tried ordering the smartphone twice, but failed both the times. While early morning, the company's website refused to open. We tried again around 9am, and this time while the website opened, when we clicked on the 'buy now' button, a new page opened which asked us to fill all our details. However, as soon as we filled all the details and clicked on 'submit' button, the page kept on refreshing and we were not able to place the order.
