Freedom 251 specifications: 10 features to know about the ‘Rs 251 smartphone’
The smartphone will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 Operating System which will run most of the apps which are supported on latest gadgets. Freedom 251 will be powered by 1.3 Ghz quadcore processor, which is more than befitting for the phone if it is priced at such a low price.
‘Freedom 251′, the cheapest smartphone ever, is scheduled to be released today. The gadget is manufactured and promoted by India-based tech firm Ringing Bells’. According to sources, the pricing of the product will begin from Rs 251, and the model of highest specification will also be placed below Rs 500. Ringing Bells’ have claimed that the product is a result of ‘Make In India’ campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The manufacturing firm has claimed that it will lead to the next connectivity revolution in the nation as envisaged by Modi. The first round of sale will be conducted online through the company’s website. The online sale will begin at 6 AM on February 18. It will continue for three days. At 8 PM on February 21, the sale will end. The official list of specifications and final price tag will be released at 7 PM today during the launching ceremony. Here is what insiders reveal about the product:
1. The smartphone will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 Operating System which will run most of the apps supported by latest gadgets.
2. Freedom 251 will be powered by 1.3 Ghz quadcore processor, which is more than befitting for the phone if it is priced at such a low price.
3. It supports 3G internet speed. Many of the aspirants of Freedom 251 were skeptical. There were doubts that the phone would be supporting basic 2G internet.
4. The screen size is expected to be around 5-inch long.
5. Internal RAM of the phone is expected to be 1GB.
6. Internal memory of the smartphone is 8 GB which could be expanded upto 32 GB through microSD card.
7. Camera is expected to be modest. A 3.2 megapixel will be provided for the rear end, whereas, the front camera will be 0.3 megapixel.
8. The phone will be powered by 1,450 mAh battery which would be sufficient enough for the phone to last 14-16 hours.
9. The smartphone will be pre-loaded with popular apps including Google Play, WhatsApp, Facebook and Youtube.
10. Despite the low price, manufacturing firm is providing buyers with one year warranty period. Ringing Bells’ has 650 service centres spread across the nation.
